Sustainable Luxury Postcards
Thoughtful Paper Selection
The essence of these postcards is rooted in the meticulously chosen Fedrigoni paper. Arena Extra White provides an impeccably smooth surface, perfect for showcasing high-quality photography, and is crafted from FSC-certified fibers, ensuring responsible sourcing from well-managed forests. The paper is also Acid-Free, Elemental Chlorine Free, and free from Heavy Metals, ensuring no harmful toxins are present. Fedrigoni continues to refine its processes to become even more sustainable, currently meeting 12 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with ambitious plans to raise its standards significantly by 2030.
Elegant Finishing Details
To elevate the luxurious design, the postcards feature gold-painted edges and delicate gold foiled text. Contrary to popular belief, foil is a surprisingly eco-friendly option. Once applied to recyclable materials like paper, the foil layer is so thin that it disintegrates during the re-pulping process, making the final product recyclable. Our partner, Foil Co., works with a specialized waste management firm to ensure foil waste is transformed into SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel), a cleaner, higher-quality alternative to fossil fuels. They are the first in their industry to achieve ZeroFoil2Landfill certification, supported by the BPIF, and all their products are entirely vegan-friendly.
Printing with Purpose
Special recognition goes to Identity Print for partnering with Helen Green Design in creating these unique postcards. Not only did they expertly handle production, but they also pledged to support reforestation efforts by funding the planting and care of a tree through the World Land Trust, contributing to the fight against climate change.
Designed for Longevity
While paper is inherently sustainable—being made from natural materials and easily recyclable—these postcards were crafted with durability in mind. More than just promotional items, they are designed as keepsakes, miniature works of art to be cherished. The Fedrigoni paper has undergone a duplexing process, which bonds two sheets together to create a thicker, more robust card with an appealing tactile quality. Furthermore, both paper types hold long-life certifications, ensuring they maintain their premium quality far beyond the average lifespan of standard paper.
Signed, Sealed, Delivered
To complement the postcards, we selected G.F Smith’s Pale Grey Colorplan envelopes for their distribution. As with Arena paper, Colorplan papers are FSC-certified (with three trees planted for every one harvested), free from Heavy Metals and Elemental Chlorine, and are both 100% recyclable and biodegradable. In addition, during the production process, any extracted water is returned to the nearby Lake District in pristine condition, and by-products are repurposed for agricultural use. To minimize our environmental impact, we hand-delivered the postcards across London, further reducing our carbon footprint.
